Not all heavy drinkers are alcoholism. They should be divided into two different types: 1) alcoholism and 2) heavy alcohol drinker. The former is case of alcohol intoxication (vinolentia), while the later is a person who has strong desire to drink alcohol (Vinocupiditas).
Withdrawal symptom is encountered on vinolentia but no on vinocupiditas. Vinocupiditas is surgical curable especially when they have:
1) Alcohol intake beginning at young ages
2) Strong desire to drink alcohol without reason.
3) Unstable blood pressure and rapid heart beats. Associated sympathetic disorders, such as hand or facial sweating, blushing, anxious or nervous…, are not uncommon.
4) Hyperactivity and difficult in mind concentration, insomnia. Amphetamine intake is frequently considered though it is not.
5) No withdrawal symptom or sign after ESB.
The second or third dopamine receptor (D3or D2) in Hypothalamus plays the role in vinocupiditas. Dopamine receptor, especially D3, is Dionysus in hypothalamus. Its influence can be blocked by ESB, then cessation of alcohol drinking follows.
Vinolentia is surgical incurable. Withdrawal symptoms surely happen on vinolentia. In addition, abnormal liver function with or without liver cirrhosis is common on vinolentia.
